The Balboa Coves neighborhood is often described as a “playground by the sea”, because of its waterfront homes located on the edge of Newport Bay in Orange County, California. Each home in this small private gated community has its own private boat dock, as well as its own private beach, and very low Home Owners Association fees. Even taking the spectacular views and home amenities into consideration, Balboa Coves is considered very affordable.
Located in the West Newport Lido Isle portion of Newport Beach, this community has around 68 home sites with contemporary and luxurious houses that were built as vacation homes in the late 1940s and 1950s. Residents enjoy living the bay front lifestyle with easy access to the main channels and islands of Newport Bay as well as convenient parking with attached garages. Many places in Newport Beach have limited parking but Balboa Coves has private streets.
This neighborhood is situated on the inside of Newport Boulevard where large boats or tall sailboats cannot gain access. This limits noise and provides for a calm atmosphere. Residents are within walking distance to wonderful restaurants like the Royal Thai Cuisine as well as upscale dining in the Newport Beach area. The harbor’s north end is directed around Lido Island where you’ll find many small shops, restaurants, and merchants. The Lido Marina Village also has a port to the popular Newport Party Boats and there is a boat show held each year. An organic Farmer’s Market is held on Sundays.
The Newport Mesa Unified School District offers highly ranked facilities for this area including Newport Elementary, Horace Ensign Intermediate School, and Newport Harbor High School. There are several private schools like Our lady Queen of Angels, Carden Hall, and Mariners Christian School.
The seaside city of Newport Beach experiences low variations in temperature because of the Pacific Ocean which warms up the winter months and keeps the summer months from getting too hot.
